In our experience, Sea Life is a great place to take both babies and toddlers. All the marine life full of strange shapes and colourful creatures is great fun for babies to watch even if they don’t understand what’s going on.
Can you take bags into London Aquarium?
Unfortunately, due to security reasons we are unable to accept suitcases or large items of hand luggage into this attraction. If you arrive with these items you will be directed to local left luggage services before entry. Handbags and backpacks up to a 30litre capacity will be permitted.

Yes, you can. Children under the age of 3 visit for free. We do not have a buggy park facility but you are welcome to take your buggy into the attraction. We also have baby changing facilities available in all toilets.

It’s OK to take your baby into a river, lake or the ocean from 2 months, but it’s very important to make sure they don’t get cold. Choose a spot where the water is warm and clean. Watch out for currents that prevent you from holding them properly. And don’t let your baby drink the water.

While your baby can technically go into water from birth, there are certain precautions you should take. Very young babies (under two months old) are susceptible to infections from water, so it’s advisable to wait until they are at least 2 months before taking them swimming.

The only risk to the baby might be the fact that he/she be around many people and can catch the flu or something like that. Other than that,the aquarium is very safe, mostly indoor and it’s big enough so you don’t feel how many people actually are there.

NA: Until about 6 months [the mammalian dive reflex will stop water from getting into a baby’s lungs]. But even after that age, a baby will not try to breathe once she is under the water. So you just have to get your baby to hold her breath as she is about to go under.
