Lifts and ramps There is a lift in the White Tower which takes visitors to and from the basement. For reasons of safety we can only permit one wheelchair user in the basement at a time. Please ask a member of staff in the area for assistance.
Is there a lift inside Tower Bridge?
There are two lifts up to the Walkways, one in the North Tower of the Bridge and one in the South Tower. There’s an external lift to access the Engine Rooms entrance and the Tower Bridge Gift Shop from bridge level to the Thames footpath level.

Parts of the Tower are not pushchair friendly due to the cobbled ground. Buggies and pushchairs are not permitted in the White Tower. Please leave them in one of the buggy parks.

Can I take a rucksack into Tower of London?
Please note that we are unable to offer bag storage or a cloakroom on site, but you will be able to take your belongings with you. We only allow bags with a size 45cm x 20cm x 25cm. Any larger items will not be allowed in the Bridge.
How long does it take to walk through Tower of London?
Plan on setting aside at least 45-60 minutes for the entire experience. Many visitors recommend setting aside at least 3 hours to see the entirety of the Tower of London.
Can I take a packed lunch to Tower of London?
Yes, but it’s best on a sunny day. Annoyingly, there are no picnic tables but there are lots of benches around, some of which are under cover, making them prime spots for a packed lunch in the sun or rain.
