Can you picnic in Centennial Park?
Centennial Park has something for everyone – quiet picnic spots for couples, barbecues near children’s playgrounds for families and wide, open spaces for large groups. There are six free, conveniently located barbecues, each with two hotplates available for public use in Centennial Park.
Is alcohol permitted in Centennial Park?
Park visitors must not consume any alcohol in any such alcohol-free zone, except with the written permission of the Trust. Park visitors must place all empty bottles in the appropriate bins provided in the Parklands or take them out of the Parklands with them.

The best picnic sites are on Centre Island, Olympic Island and Hanlan’s Point. You can bring your own charcoal BBQ if you like but propane BBQs aren’t allowed! A permit is only required for groups of over 25 people. You can obtain a permit from the City of Toronto here.
Are fire pits allowed in Toronto?
Although outdoor fireplaces can be purchased at retail outlets throughout the city, it does not mean open air burning is permitted for their use. Open air burning is not permitted.
