Our cycle policy If you have a fully folding cycle, you’re welcome to bring it on board any of our trains. Just be sure to fold and carry your bike before going through the ticket gates and when doing so, please make sure you use the wide aisle gate as this provides more space and time for you to walk through.
Can I take a bike on the train to London?
Fully folding bikes with wheels up to 85cm are allowed on all trains – no restrictions and no need to reserve a space. The only rule is that you must be able to carry the bike onto the train and fit it in the luggage rack.
Can I transport my bike in the train UK?
You can take folded cycles anywhere, at any time on all our transport services. However, on buses the driver can decide not to let you travel if it’s too busy.
Can I just take my bike on a train?
Many train operators allow bikes onboard. On some trains, you need to reserve a space for your bike before you travel. How long does it take to ride a bike from London to Brighton?
60 miles is a full day’s riding for a moderately fit cyclist. If you think it might be too ambitious, you could do it over a weekend, overnighting near East Grinstead.
How can I travel by train and bike in UK?
You can take your bike free of charge on almost all British trains, except during Monday-Friday peak hours around London & other big cities. Sometimes bikes are carried on a turn-up-&-hop-on basis, but on many trains there are only a limited number of bike spaces so you must make a reservation for your bike beforehand.
Do you legally have to wear a helmet when cycling UK?
Wearing a helmet whilst cycling is not a legal requirement in the UK. A cycle helmet is designed to reduce the impact to the head of a person cycling in falls or collisions while minimising side effects such as interference with peripheral vision.

The cost of the train will include the cost of shipping and transporting the bikes as well as the cost of insurance. The price to pack the bike ranges from Rs. 500 to Rs. 1000, and the transport costs for the bike as a package.
Is bike transport by train safe?
Safety and security: Do not panic! Your vehicle is in the safe hands of Indian Railways. After all formality and long procedures, it will reach the desired destination you want. Indian Railways are responsible for the vehicle they are transferring and assure its safety to the traveller.
Can I send my bike through train without ticket?
Transport your bike as your luggage in the parcel van of the train. However for this you need a confirm reserved ticket. Also keep in mind that as per latest rule this method required Railway authorities special sanction / approval.

Which tube lines can you take a bike on?
River services take bikes. You and your bike can travel free of charge on the Emirates Air Line cable car before 9.30am Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays). Buses and trams do not take any bikes apart from folding cycles.

Folded bikes are accepted on the London Overground anytime. Time restraints apply for non-folded bikes.
Why are there no bikes on Eurostar?
Normal registered luggage (less than 85cm)
The other Eurostar destinations do not take either oversized luggage or bikes as they lack the necessary security measures for scanning.
