The 2023 event will once again take place in Essex. The exact route is yet to be announced. In 2022 the route set off from Victoria Embankment in central London and headed into Essex via the historic Epping Forest.
Where does ride to the wall start?
This year 2022 at Drayton Manor, based on a first-come basis via the RTTW Registration page. Drayton will still be used for those Riders, who wish to display association flags, those from the military who wish to ride at the event and those who are camping or will be using the onsite hotel.
How long does it take to cycle 100 miles?
Unless the 100 miler you’re gunning for is pancake flat and you can easily cruise at 20+ mph (in which case you can adjust that max time downward), a rolling century will take you 6 ½ to 7 hours (using 15 mph as an average).
Can anyone join RideLondon?
Yes! Anyone can join anywhere along the FreeCycle route without signing up in advance – however, if you do this, you won’t be able to benefit from a free tabard, so we recommend you sign up once entries open.

How long should a beginner cycle?
Cycle for 30 minutes on your first day, reduce it to 20 for your second, and finish the week with a 60 minute cycle on the weekend. For the final week, you’re going to add an extra day of cycling. Ride for 45 minutes on your first day.
Why has RideLondon route changed?
The route will be different, as will the organisers, with London Marathon Events stepping in to plan the event for the next ten years. RideLondon will now take place on a single day in the spring with the aim of encouraging more people to cycle through the warmer months.

Entry costs £89. Once the first 10,000 RideLondon-Essex 100 entries are sold out, a random draw from a ballot will decide who receives the remainder of general entries. The ballot closes on Thursday January 20 2022, with entry costing £89 as well.
Why has RideLondon moved to Essex?
RideLondon is set to return in May next year, but in Essex instead of Surrey, after Surrey County Council ended its partnership with the event. RideLondon, formerly known as Prudential RideLondon, is an annual cycling event which raises millions for charity.
