For cyclists, most stations have bike racks and 13 have bike lockers for rent. If you’re travelling outside of peak hours (peak hours are 6:30 a.m. – 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.), you are welcome to bring your bike on board. Calgary Transit can get you just about anywhere you want to go.
Can you bring bikes on Calgary Transit?
Bikes are only allowed on the train if there is room for them. Please only board cars that can comfortably accommodate you and your bike (two bikes per bulkhead section of a car). Cyclists must yield space to seniors and customers with disabilities, mobility equipment or strollers.
Can I bring my bicycle on the bus?
You can bring a bike if there is space in the luggage compartment. Bus Éireann charges a fee (currently €10) to bring a bike on a single journey.
Are cycles allowed on trains?
Many train operators allow bikes onboard. On some trains, you need to reserve a space for your bike before you travel. Make sure you check the specific requirements for each train company on our Cycle Policies page.
When can I take my bike on CTA?
Bicycles are permitted on the ‘L’ (CTA trains) every weekday except from 7 am to 9 am and 4 pm to 6 pm (with certain exceptions where crowding is anticipated). On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays (except when prohibited), bicycles are allowed on trains all day.

Are Ebikes allowed on Calgary pathways?
Electric pedal assist bicycles are allowed on Calgary Transit during the same non-peak hours that other bicycles are permitted. Electric pedal assist bicycles weighing less than 55lbs are also allowed on bicycle racks on the front of City buses.
Do First buses allow bikes?
Folding bicycles are welcome on board our buses, however we do ask that you fold them and place them in an appropriate space. For everyone’s comfort and safely, we ask you to make sure they’re not blocking the aisles or access to any seats.
Are cyclists allowed to cycle in the bus lane during bus lane timings?

Even if Magistrates aren’t convinced you were under the influence whilst on your bike, if you have been riding in a dangerous, careless or inconsiderate way then you run the risk of being convicted under one of these separate offences.
Can I take cycle in train in Canada?
* Bikes can only be transported on trains listed with baggage cars and are to be transported in provided bags or boxes. On other trains or during regular season, bikes can be transported in bags or boxes on trains with baggage car service. Upon arrival at the train station, check your bike at the baggage counter.
How can I bring my cycle in local train?
Yes. You can take your bicycle in the luggage compartment but not in the passenger compartment.

Can you lock your bike to the bus?
You may not lock your bicycle to the rack on the front of a bus. If you would like added security, simply lock your front wheel to the frame of your bike before the bus approaches. Use the available rack position closest to the bus.
When can you wait in the cycle area?
If your vehicle has passed over the first solid white line which can be common in slow moving traffic and the traffic lights change to red, you must stop before the second white line and wait in the cyclist waiting area.
How do I take my bike on the CTA?
All CTA buses are equipped with bike racks, located on the front of the bus. Most regular, two-wheeled bikes fit into the racks. (Electric bicycles are prohibited from the bus bike rack. Folding standard or folding electric bicycles may be brought aboard the bus.)
Can you bike with groceries?
If you have a front or back rack on your bike, strapping a crate or sturdy box to it is a great option for carrying groceries. You can attach it to your rack with zip ties, rope with reliable knots, or bungee cords for a less permanent solution.
Can I bring my bike to Walmart?
You can take your unwanted bike to the customer service counter of your nearest Walmart store. Once again, the packaging, accessories, and additional parts that came with the bike are needed.
