Can you apply for 2 different courses at university?
It’s fine in some situations. Most universities will be happy with you applying to more than one course in certain situations, but it’s your personal statement that will probably be the key. Think about it – can you write a personal statement that will work for multiple courses?
Why can you not apply to both Cambridge and Oxford?
Can you apply to both Cambridge and Oxford? Unfortunately, no. You cannot apply to Cambridge and Oxford in the same admission year. The sheer volume of applicants who want to attend one of these universities would make it logistically impossible to evaluate all the applications.

Do Oxford accept lower grades?
To apply to Oxford, students would need to have completed, or be studying for, at least 120 points at stage 1 or above, in appropriate subjects. We would expect students to be performing at the highest level, with at least pass grade 2.

Do you need all 9s to get into Oxford?
While there is no minimum requirement, a high proportion of successful applicants have grades of 7, 8 or 9. This is usually an indication of work ethic, and how hard you have worked up to that point and is usually looked at in context with other things.
Do you need 4 A levels for Cambridge?

Our typical offers are based on students taking three A Levels together in Year 13, and most Cambridge applicants are studying three or four A Level subjects in Years 12 and 13. This is usually sufficient to show breadth of interests and ability to manage a range of differing academic tasks.
Is it harder to get into Oxford or Cambridge for Medicine?
Cambridge interviews around 75% of its applicants and are very selective post-interview to give their final offers. Around 16% of students are successful in receiving an offer. At Oxford, a smaller proportion of applicants are invited to interview (approx. 26%) and 9% receive an offer.
Am I more likely to get into Oxford or Cambridge?
Cambridge take into account UMS scores and A-Level grades during their shortlisting process to decide which applicants should be interviewed. Oxford, on the other hand, focus more on admissions test scores and GCSEs. Cambridge also tend to interview 75% of their applicants, a higher proportion than Oxford.

You can’t apply to both Oxford and Cambridge in the same year, so you’ll have to choose one or the other. Both universities are world-renowned in both arts and science subjects, so the decision is largely an individual one.

What happens if no university accepts me?
Universities don’t have to give you a reason, but if the rejection has left you wondering you could contact the university to ask for feedback. Try not to take it too personally. Admissions tutors will be sifting through hundreds of applications and it might not always be obvious why it’s not good news for you.
Can I apply for more than 5 courses on UCAS?
If you used all five of your choices on your original application and you’re not holding an offer, you’ll be able to add another choice using Extra.
