Do you need to do further maths to do a physics degree?
To do a Physics degree, virtually all universities require you to have Physics and Maths A Level. A lot also ask that you also have an A level in Further Maths or another science – Chemistry usually fits very nicely alongside Physics as it is the other main physical science.

Do you need Further Maths to get into UCL?
Applicants must be taking the full A-level in Further Mathematics. Offers for applicants taking A-level are phrased in such a way that conditions may be met through either option, whether or not the applicant indicates on their UCAS application that they are taking STEP.
Is it easier to get into Oxford or Cambridge for physics?
Both very difficult but in different ways. Oxford has the PAT and usually 2-3 days of interviews by two colleges. Cambridge use your UMS and have 2-3 20-30 min interviews by one college. From track record at my school, it seems more people are successful in getting into Oxford physics than Cambridge natural sciences.
