Does Cambridge look at predicted grades?
Your UCAS application must include a reference written by somebody who can comment in detail on your academic ability and potential, and predict grades for any exams that you have not yet taken. We can’t consider an application without this.
Does Oxbridge look at predicted grades?
You’ll receive your A-level grades at the end of Year 13, but you’ll apply with predicted grades based on your Year 12 performance. So expect for these to be scrutinised alongside your GCSE grades, plus any admissions tests the university requires you to take – more on this below.

What happens if my predicted grades are low?
Universities will consider slightly lower predicted grades for most degree programmes. This is because they know your predicted grades might not be an accurate reflection of your abilities and your final results could be higher. It’s important not to be disheartened if your predicted grades are lower than you’d hoped.

Do you need all 9s to get into Oxford?
While there is no minimum requirement, a high proportion of successful applicants have grades of 7, 8 or 9. This is usually an indication of work ethic, and how hard you have worked up to that point and is usually looked at in context with other things.
What happens if I fail my Year 12 mocks?
Even if you attend all your mock exams, you may not always achieve a passing grade. Thankfully, the only grades that mock exams impact are your target grade – failing a mock exam has no bearing on the final grade you receive on your GCSE certificate. While mocks are important exams, they don’t affect your GCSE grade.
Can you get an unconditional offer with predicted grades?
If a student is predicted suitable grades and has an academic profile to support this (such as strong GCSE grades), a provider may choose to make an unconditional offer on this basis. This may only be to applicants presenting certain types of qualifications and/or subject combinations.

Is 4 A levels good for Oxbridge?

A distinction* (D*) at Btec is equivalent in the Ucas tariff to an A*, whereas a distinction (D) is the same as an A. An A* at A-level is worth 56 Ucas points, while an A will get you 48 points.
Is it better to fail a class or get a low grade?
Dropping a class is much better for your GPA than failing a class or getting a C or D in it is because a dropped class does not affect your grade point average. Dropping a class may also raise your GPA because it can allow you to spend more time on other classes and raise your grades in them.
Can teachers change your predicted grade?
Can UCAS predicted grades be changed? Teachers cannot change predicted grades on request. If you show significant improvement over a term they might be able to update them but it is unlikely.
