Formal Hall is a three course dinner served by College staff by candlelight in our beautiful dining hall. There’s a dress code: suit and tie or cocktail dress, and students and Fellows wear their academic gowns. It’s part of the classic Cambridge experience and always a memorable occasion.
What do you wear to Cambridge formals?
The following attire is acceptable:

- A shirt or blouse; shirts should be collared and should be worn with a tie or cravat.
- Polo necked sweaters.

- Please note, shorts are not acceptable.
