Can you shop at Costco with someone else’s membership?

Why can’t I order online from Costco?

Why Costco doesn’t accept Visa in Canada?
However, Costco.ca (online shopping) does accept Visa cards. Costco in Canada is separate from (although related to) Costco in the US, and banking is separate in Canada from US banks and credit cards. So the contract that Costco has with Visa in the US does not apply in Canada, or vice versa.
