How do I unlock my Service Canada account?

How do I set up a CPP account?
To apply online you’ll need a My Service Canada Account (MSCA). If you don’t have a My Service Canada Account (MSCA), you can register for one. You’ll receive a personal access code to complete your registration. Through MSCA, you can see an estimate of what you’ll receive.
How do I switch from CRA to Service Canada?
The CRA needs to provide your social insurance number (SIN) to ESDC to transfer you to My Service Canada Account through a secure connection. ESDC will use your SIN to identify you, and accurately display to you, your information held with ESDC.
Can Service Canada see my bank account?
No. The information you enter (e.g. username, password) and the identity of the financial institution are not shared with the Government of Canada. Similarly, none of your personal tax information will be shared with your financial institution. No personally identifying information or banking details are ever shared.
What is Service Canada GCKey?
GCKey is a Government of Canada service that issues credentials (username and password) that are used to access (or log in to) federal government services online. The GCKey service can be used by clients who do not have, or choose not to use a credential they may have with one of the Sign-In Partners.
Why is my Service Canada account locked?
The CRA has locked these accounts as a precautionary measure after it learned that some CRA My Account user IDs and passwords may have been obtained by unauthorized third parties through external sources (such as email phishing scams). This is not due to a breach of the CRA’s online systems.
Does a GCKey expire?
Your GCKey can expire. The system requires you to use your GCKey at least once every two years, otherwise it will expire. If your GCKey expires, you will be required to register for a new one; you will also need to re-register with any online service you were previously using to access the Victims Portal.
What documents do I need to apply for CPP?
You must file an application with Service Canada to start your monthly pension.
Before you can apply, you need to have the following information:
- Your Social Insurance Number.
- Your banking information if you want your payments direct deposited.
- Your spouse or common-law partner’s SIN.
How long does it take to apply for CPP online?
It takes approximately 7 to 14 days for online applications, 120 days for applications delivered by mail or in-person to a Service Canada Centre.
How much is CPP per month?
For 2022, the maximum monthly amount you could receive as a new recipient starting the pension at age 65 is $1,253.59. The average monthly amount paid for a new retirement pension (at age 65) in July 2022 is $737.88. Your situation will determine how much you’ll receive up to the maximum.
How do I log into CRA with Service Canada?
To access your account, return to the MyBenefits CRA mobile app, select “CRA sign in”, and enter your CRA user ID and password. When prompted, enter your CRA security code. You can also sign in to MyBenefits CRA mobile app with a Sign-In Partner.

Your T4E is available as early as February 1 through My Service Canada Account (MSCA). You can view, print and submit a copy of it with your Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) tax return. To access your T4E online, you need to log in or register for MSCA. You can also get your T4E by mail.
Can Service Canada freeze your bank account?
Canada Revenue Agency has the ability to freeze bank accounts without obtaining a court order if you owe taxes. A CRA account manager or representative will usually attempt to contact you to make payment arrangements several times prior to initiating a freeze on your bank account.

Does the CRA know how much I have in my bank account?

How do I find my GCKey ID?
If you lost your GCKey username, you can recover it.
- Go to the sign-in page for GCKey.
- Click on “Forgot your username?”
- Enter the email associated with your account. Your username will be sent to that email.
Why is GCKey required?
For security purposes, you will need to use the GCKey service provided by the Government of Canada to open your saved application when using the link provided from within the email. A GCKey: is a unique credential (username/password) protects your communication with the Government of Canada.
