Can you see the Meridian line for free?
The Meridian line crosses the Observatory courtyard (entrance fee) and it also crosses Greenwich Park. You can see the line up close for free by going through the small gate to the right of the clock and the examples of British Weights and Measures on the wall next to the Observatory.
How long does a tour of the Royal Observatory take?
You might be able to see all that you wish in 30 minutes but it is at least a 15 minutes walk from the station and up the killer hill, then another 15 minutes back to the station and don’t forget you will need to factor in rest time after you climb the hill.

Planetarium shows last up to 30 minutes. When should I arrive? The planetarium is part of the Royal Observatory, at the top of a hill with spectacular views across London. Please allow enough time to get to us and aim to arrive at least 15 minutes before the show’s start time, as latecomers cannot be admitted.

Everyone is Welcome. Griffith Observatory is a free-admission facility located on the south side of Mount Hollywood in Griffith Park. The building and grounds are accessible for all visitors. The building is busiest on weekends, during summer and holiday periods, and at sunset.
