The Route. This year riders will be taken around a brand new route from the streets of London to the beautiful scenery of Essex. As mentioned above, starting at Victoria Embankment, the route will take them to East London, then moving through Essex, and finally finishing at Tower Bridge.

Is RideLondon difficult?
Certainly less of a challenge than the ‘old’ Surrey Ride London route, this new Essex loop is a bit more accessible and should be a bit less scary from the outset. There are no big climbs like Leith or Box Hill, which some will miss.
Can anyone join RideLondon?
Yes! Anyone can join anywhere along the FreeCycle route without signing up in advance – however, if you do this, you won’t be able to benefit from a free tabard, so we recommend you sign up once entries open.
Where does ride to the wall start?
This year 2022 at Drayton Manor, based on a first-come basis via the RTTW Registration page. Drayton will still be used for those Riders, who wish to display association flags, those from the military who wish to ride at the event and those who are camping or will be using the onsite hotel.

Entry costs £89. Once the first 10,000 RideLondon-Essex 100 entries are sold out, a random draw from a ballot will decide who receives the remainder of general entries. The ballot closes on Thursday January 20 2022, with entry costing £89 as well.

Oatmeal is the perfect pre-century meal because it’s easy to digest, yet it gives even, lasting energy. Add some nuts or nut butter and/or a little yogurt for a bit of protein and fat. Wash it down with coffee (if you like caffeine in the morning), and you’re ready to roll.
